Since visiting Thailand for the first time, I have always found myself returning and longing to explore each corner of the country. Though I visited the southern part of Thailand, there was just too much to see that I needed more time, and that included checking out some of the best glamping spots up north for my future travel plans.

I was delighted to find out (after thorough research) just how many glamping places there are in the Mae Lai district and some other parts of Chiang Mai too. While I don’t mind roughing it out, glamping definitely provides a cosier stay in the wild, and who can say no to such a thing? So, the next time you’re in this beautiful part of Thailand, do yourself a favour and check in at any of these glamping places.

1. Stay Wild & Cafe

For its affordable pricing, Stay Wild & Cafe is the first mention on the list. What makes this particular spot unique is its location, which is next to the waterfront. For those who want to experience nights in nature but would rather not rough it out, this place offers accommodations that will keep you comfortable.

The wooden cabins adorning minimalist interior features outdoor bathtubs that are perfect for winding down after a day of adventure (like white water rafting and ATV rides) around the area.

2. Lan Na Wild

Lan Na Wild knows how to do glamping well, especially with its Balinese-like huts tucked within the lush jungle. There are nine types of rooms for guests to choose from, and each one comes with a killer view and amenities that you wouldn’t imagine existing at a glamping spot — like a temperature-controlled jacuzzi!

Those vacationing in bigger groups and want to really live that tent life can opt for their Onsen Tree Tent, which is two storeys! And yes, there’s also a jacuzzi plonked right in front of the tent. So, escape the city’s craziness by relaxing in the wild!

3. Reverie Camp

Glamp your way through the lush greenery camper van style with Reverie Camp. Situated in the misty clouds, there are six holiday motorhomes to choose from, including a special one that comes with an igloo-esque dome. Each accommodation comes with basic amenities, while the priciest one comes with a jacuzzi and butler!

4. Taloh Cabin

Another gem not to be missed is the adorable little glamping cabin, Taloh Cabin. As you walk through the door, you’re immersed in nature as the breathtaking view of the forest is 360 degrees here.

Pull up a chair on the deck, whip out your current favourite book, and reset in the wild — did we mention there’s a jacuzzi on the balcony? Only one cabin is available here, so be sure to book in advance if you plan to stay.

5. Nelamit

Hugged by the forest, Nelamit is one of the more well-known glamping spots with a dome-shaped accommodation facing the river. Each one has a terrace with a bathtub, perfect for dipping under the stars. The 5-star glamping property also offers free parking, and there are restaurants nearby if you feel like exploring the town.

6. Morning Star Glamping

Chiang Mai is truly a glamping wonderland with many campsites to choose from, one of which is Morning Star Glamping. Located in Huai Kaeo, this glamping spot is famous for its all-glass triangle huts, which with their twinkling lights, resemble those in Nordic countries.

Its remote location within nature also makes it a perfect spot for stargazing at night. Their A-Frame Cabin comes with an indoor tub and an outdoor jacuzzi, and is the ideal option for groups of four. For those wanting minimalism in nature, you can book their all-white huts instead.

7. Norden Glamping

During my research for glamping sites in Chiang Mai, Norden Glamping kept popping up, and it’s easy to see why. This luxury glamping choice comes highly suggested by many websites, and understandably so! Just have a gander at the terrace, indoor and outdoor bathtubs, and a killer view.

If you’re a nature lover, this woodland experience will allow you to reset. Each glass cabin comes with air-conditioning, Wi-Fi, a water heater, a kettle, a mini-fridge, and even a Marshall speaker — is there a more perfect forest getaway?

8. Kissing Star Glamping

Another similar glamping spot to Norden Glamping is Kissing Star Glamping, but slightly on the pricier side and further up in the hills. The all-glass accommodation that looks into the lush forest can fit up to four people, and there’s enough room for everyone to soak up in the outdoor tubs too.

Cosy up with a blanket and hot chocolate, and admire the stars at night. You can even request to have a Netflix night under the stars! Just put in an advanced request with one of the staff on site to have them arrange it for you. This is the epitome of a luxurious forest escape!
