Yes, we know it’s only the start off the week, but we’re already gearing up for the weekend! And we’re shaking off the Monday blues with this here listicle of the eight most Instagram-worthy clamping spots around Selangor.
Environmentally-friendly locations and spectacular natural beauty are hallmarks of the state of Selangor. This makes it ideal for camping and outdoor activities. Those who want to experience the rugged outdoors without sacrificing their modern conveniences can try glamping — the portmanteau of glamorous camping. While there are numerous glamping spots throughout Malaysia, if what you’re looking for is a quick escape, then look no further than these eight Selangor locations.
1. Resort Taman Eko Rimba Komanwel, Rawang
Resort Taman Eko Rimba Komanwel is a stunning park thanks to its huge, looming trees. If you’re looking for a peaceful weekend in the great outdoors, this is your best option. Make a pit stop in the Commonwealth Forest Park, which is next to the trunk route, if you’re travelling from Kuala Lumpur (KL) to Rawang.
Taman Eko Rimba Komanwel, as its name suggests, combines a dense jungle with lovely gardens, a lake, and a number of other amenities to provide visitors with an amazing environment for refuge in the woods. To avoid disappointment, reserve the campsite at least two weeks in advance if you wish to go camping on the weekends. The lake campground is a popular choice for many campers. Trails for trekkers of various levels and ages are available.
2. River & Glamp, Batu Caves
If you’re looking for a stunning spot in Selangor to go glamping by the river, you’ve come to the right place. River & Glamp is located just 15 minutes from Batu Caves and 45 minutes from KL. Nature’s best features will be on full display at this beautiful locale.
It’s also worth noting that the River & Glamp package includes three meals: breakfast, lunch, and dinner, all served in a glamping-style atmosphere. If you’ve ever wanted to sleep under the stars amidst of some of nature’s most beautiful scenery, then head here.
3. Dusun Bonda, Batang Kali
An orchard and a private villa, Dusun Bonda is the location of the Glamping Bell Tent. Utterly serene, it’s located at Ulu Tamu, Batang Kali, Selangor and has kid-friendly amenities as well as a peaceful river with waterfalls and man-made pools. With a love of nature as a foundation, its owner built this idyllic retreat for families to unwind in the midst of lush tropical surroundings.
4. Skycamp By Rimba Segara, Hulu Langat
Located in Hulu Langat, this is the newest and most recent park to open its doors. A leisurely drive through the little village of Hulu Langat, with its appealing food stalls and fruit shops on both sides of the street, will transport you back in time to a picturesque rural environment with rivers and waterfalls amidst tropical gardens and thick woodlands.
You are also welcome to bring your own food to prepare in the kitchen, which is equipped with a refrigerator and all cooking gear, including gas. There will be restrictions on the use of styrofoam and disposable plastic, in particular, because the park is managed with consideration for the environment.
5. The Sticks, Kuala Kubu Bharu
Kuala Kubu Bharu in Hulu Selangor is home to the lovely eco-resort The Sticks. It was built on the site of a former tin mine. As a sustainable resort, the property generates its own energy using a solar power system and water from the nearby stream. Get away from it all in a rainforest hideaway complete with comfy beds, warm duvets and ceiling fans, and even a water heater that uses fresh spring water as a source.
At The Sticks, all 12 of the distinctive houses — or tendoks, which are a hybrid between a tent and a pondok (hut) — were created to offer an accommodation experience that was true to nature without sacrificing comfort. During their stay, visitors can unwind and take pleasure in activities like floating along the river, relaxing in a hammock beneath the stars, and enjoying excellent home-cooked meals.
6. The Hid3out, Batu Caves
Located in Sungai Tua, Batu Caves Selangor, is The Hid3out, where guests can have the experience of camping, only elevated. You don’t have to completely retreat into a cave with a tent and an outdoor setting to enjoy camping, because here, basic necessities like mattresses, bathrooms, and more are provided. Glampers can also utilise the BBQ pit to cook meals and have fun with their friends.
7. Alpine Camp, Hulu Langat
You don’t have to be far from the city to experience nature’s splendour. With a view of the Lui River and Black Mountain (Gunung Hitam), Alpine offers a glamping experience unlike any other. Each of the five available glamping tents has room for up to four people. A surau (prayer hall) and dining hall are also available at Alpine Camp for the convenience of guests. Visitors can also take a dip in the river, which is kid-friendly.
8. Camp Out, Sunway Lagoon
Sunway Lagoon’s Camp Out! is the amusement park’s first outdoor camping experience. It’s essentially Sunway Lagoon’s Best Day itinerary extended into the evening. But, of course, it’s not your typical, buggy camping outing. It’s an enhanced camping experience that includes a BBQ dinner, a private pool, and the opportunity to spend the night in the heart of Sunway Lagoon. Campers can enjoy a night beneath the stars while admiring Sunway Lagoon’s surrounding dunes and crystal-clear skies in this idyllic location. Surely, it’ll be the best night of your life!
