5. The Sticks, Kuala Kubu Bharu

Kuala Kubu Bharu in Hulu Selangor is home to the lovely eco-resort The Sticks. It was built on the site of a former tin mine. Get away from it all in a rainforest hideaway complete with comfy beds, warm duvets and ceiling fans, and even a water heater that uses fresh spring water as a source.

At The Sticks, all 12 of the distinctive houses — or tendoks, which are a hybrid between a tent and a pondok (hut) — were created to offer an accommodation experience that was true to nature without sacrificing comfort.
