Thanks to its collection of magnificent rock formations surrounded by ancient jungle, large caves with stalactites and stalagmites, sea caves and tunnels, as well as animals, Langkawi is the only location in Southeast Asia to be awarded the highly-coveted UNESCO Geopark classification.
In addition to the recent honour, CNN Travel ranked Penang as one of the 22 best places to visit earlier this year. It was also voted one of the 15 Best Islands in the World to Retire on by International Living in December last year.
