Flying to your preferred location in Indonesia just got quicker and simpler. Having kicked off on 2 November, you can now take advantage of Malaysia Airlines’ new twice-weekly direct flights between Kuala Lumpur (KUL) and Yogyakarta (YIA), allowing you to indulge in Indonesia’s renowned street food or go shopping till you drop.
With the addition of the new route, the airline’s network within Indonesia now spans six cities, including Jakarta, Bali (Denpasar), Surabaya, Medan, and Pekanbaru.

Every Wednesday and Sunday, the airline will offer a direct service, leaving KUL on MH857 at 5:40pm and returning from YIA to KUL on MH856 at 8:30pm. The B737-800 aircraft will be used for the trips; it has 160 seats in total, 16 of which are allocated for the airline’s Business Class and 144 for Economy Class passengers.
The starting price for a round-trip ticket on Malaysia Airlines is RM1,255 from Kuala Lumpur to Yogyakarta. Travellers who choose the Economy Lite rate will receive a number of perks, including the ability to earn Enrich Points and free 7kg of cabin baggage, as well as free meals, snacks, and entertainment while on the flight.
Customers can opt for the Economy Flex Fare to enjoy unlimited date changes, refunds, Go Show flexibility, priority check-in, boarding, and a 35kg check-in baggage allowance without additional fees.
