Located in the iconic Petronas Twin Towers, Petrosains is an interactive science discovery centre that immerses children in the fascinating world of science with its engaging exhibits and hands-on activities. Plan your visit—weekdays are less crowded if you want a more relaxed experience and not something that would cause sensory overload for little kids. Encourage kids to participate in interactive exhibits like The Platform, where they’ll learn how the oil and gas exploration process works, for a more educational experience.

2. Sunway Lagoon’s Night Park
Sunway Lagoon is no stranger to offering fun activities for both children and adults. But for fun after the sun and for a taste of the ‘Wild, Wild, West’, their Night Park is a great choice for the kids with a later bedtime. There are water slides, cool performances, and rides that will have everyone lining up for more.
Highlight rides include the water ride at Grand Canyon River Rapid and the Rodeo Bull ride, which has additional charges but is worth the spend. The Wagon Wheel is fun too, for something a little more tame.

3. Kuala Lumpur Bird Park
KL Bird Park is home to over 3,000 birds of various species. It’s known for its free-flight walk-in aviary, where birds fly freely, offering an up-close experience for visitors. As with everything you do outdoors in Malaysia, the sweltering heat can creep up on you, so stay hydrated. We highly recommend visiting in the morning as birds are more active, and you won’t sweat buckets. Bring binoculars for bird watching.

4. KidZania Kuala Lumpur
We love playing with purpose, and at KidZania, the interactive city that is made for children allows them to role-play. Kids from 4 to 14 years old can choose to be doctors, chefs, and firefighters and perform real-life tasks in this child-sized city.
To save time, especially during busy periods, making pre-bookings on their website would be wise. Encourage the kids to wear comfortable clothing for more comfortable play too. Reviewing the map before visiting with children will help maximise your day and make the most out of your visit.

5. Aquaria KLCC
Aquaria KLCC is a world-class aquarium showcasing over 5,000 aquatic and land-bound creatures. The 90-meter transparent tunnel walk is a highlight, giving visitors a mildly thrilling underwater experience. And no matter how often you’ve visited Aquaria, you still can’t get over the beauty of aquatic creatures, especially when a massive stingray swims above you. Like most places on our list involving animals, you can check the schedule to catch feeding times, which are both educational and exciting.

6. Farm In The City
Farm In The City offers a petting zoo experience where kids can interact with a variety of farm animals. The park promotes a ‘no cages’ concept, allowing animals to roam freely, so while it’s fun, it’s also important to ensure little and big kids respect the animals when visiting.
There are fun interactive sessions where kids can feed and pet the animals. Farm In The City is big for a petting zoo, so wear comfortable shoes as plenty of walking needs to be done when exploring. Bring hats and sunscreen too.

7. National Science Centre
Calling all kids and adults who love all things science! The National Science Centre is a hub for interactive scientific learning, making it an edutaining experience for everyone visiting. The centre features a variety of exhibits on different scientific principles, making learning fun for kids. The dinosaur exhibit is our favourite.
