Built back in 1997, Sunway Pyramid Ice is one of the oldest and most popular ice skating rinks in Malaysia. This skating rink may have been a part of almost every millennial Malaysian’s childhood, where parents or guardians have deposited them here before going shopping at least once growing up.
If you are a first-time skater, fret not! There are professional trainers on-site that will provide you with proper guidance on the ice. Side note: Sunway Pyramid Ice can get really crowded during the weekends and public holidays, so, it is recommended that you visit on weekdays.

Icescape Ice Rink, IOI City Mall, Putrajaya
Icescape Ice Rink is known to be the biggest and first Olympic-sized ice skating rink in Malaysia. It first opened in 2014, and since then, has held various ice skating events — from performances to competitions. But, of course, you and your friends are welcome to skate at this rink as well. And what better way to enhance your skating experience than by skating with a breathtaking view of the lush greenery outdoors.

This ice skating rink is the new kid on the block as it recently opened its doors in 2021. You can easily spend at least half a day to the whole day here, as mall housing it has numerous dining outlets. So, whenever you feel hungry after a session, you can easily get food, then chill before skating again. There are also various classes you can sign up for such, as beginner-friendly figure skating and short track speedskating.

If you’re across town in KL, there’s another Blue Ice Skating Rink you can visit — at 163 Retail Park in Mont Kiara. Also a new spot in town, while it is a relatively small rink, it is perfect if you are looking to destress while skating alone or with a small group of friends. This rink is also perfect for first time or casual skaters. Moreover, the neon signs lined up against the wall makes for some Insta-worthy shots!
