Planning a trip to Australia just got more exciting, especially if Brisbane is on your radar. Malaysia Airlines is relaunching its direct flights from Kuala Lumpur to Brisbane in November 2025, making it easier (and more affordable) to connect Southeast Asia and Queensland
Why you might want to book early
Malaysia Airlines’ long-awaited comeback to Brisbane promo fares is worth a look with its Economy Class all-in return tickets starting at RM1,999 and Business Class fares from RM8,999. For round-trip flights between Asia and Australia, these prices are worthwhile, especially for families or solo travellers planning school holiday getaways or summer escapes. With added frequencies to Sydney and Melbourne, and the introduction of the new A330neo on selected routes, the airline is doubling down on the Australia–Asia corridor.
More options across the Asia-Pacific region

Brisbane isn’t the only city getting more attention. Malaysia Airlines is also expanding its Asia-Pacific network with added services to popular destinations like Auckland, Surabaya, Phuket, Trivandrum, and of course, Sydney and Melbourne. This enhanced connectivity offers greater flexibility for travellers looking to explore the region or connect seamlessly through Kuala Lumpur.
Economy that works for women travellers and mums on-the-go

Malaysia Airlines has revamped its Economy Class fare tiers to better suit different types of travellers, especially women travelling solo, or mothers flying with kids. Economy Value includes 20kg of checked baggage, 7kg of cabin baggage, complimentary meals, a 10% discount for children, and the option to change flights for a fee. Economy Basic offers slightly more flexibility for short-haul trips, while Economy Flex gives full booking flexibility, ideal if you’re juggling schedules or travelling for work.
Upgraded comfort and a dash of football flair

On top of fleet upgrades—including lie-flat Business Class seats on the Boeing 737-10 for regional routes—Malaysia Airlines’ EnrichMoney multi-currency wallet and Visa prepaid card lets you pay with points and enjoy travel rewards in real-time. From now till 31 May 2025, you can even score RM5 off when redeeming points at participating DuitNow QR merchants. Meanwhile, football fans will love the airline’s new Manchester United co-branded aircraft livery, which debuted with a celebration featuring legends like Berbatov, Vidić, and Nani. Football fans in Malaysia can catch them in person at MAG Arena from 18–20 April 2025.
