In order to ensure that voters throughout Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah, and Sarawak have easy and consistent access to polling stations, Malaysia Airlines will boost flight frequency and employ wide-body A330 aircraft on a number of routes.

The airline has announced a rise in flight count from 26 to 44, as well as an increase in the number of A330-operated domestic routes from 16 to 24. Last month, Malaysia Airlines also announced the “Jom Balik Mengundi” campaign to help voters during GE15 on 19 November 2022. Malaysia Airlines is offering a 20% discount on bookings until 19 November 2022 for travel between 11 and 27 November 2022.

This 20% off promotion is valid for bookings made on their website and is applicable to all fare types (Lite, Basic, and Flex for Economy Class, and Basic and Flex for Business Class).

Students between 18 and 26 are encouraged to sign up as MHexplorer members and enjoy different travel perks all year round, including up to 30% off Malaysia Airlines and Firefly flights, an additional 10kg baggage limit, one complimentary date change, 10% off selected products on Temptations and Firefly’s online store, family and friends discounts, 20% off Firefly air cargo, and many more exciting promotions.

Additional details of flight frequency and aircraft upgrades can be found here.

Izham Ismail, Chief Executive Officer of Malaysia Aviation Group, stated that Malaysia Airlines is committed to supporting voters to fly back to their hometowns to fulfil their civic duties as part of the GE15 movement.

The airline has increased its seating capacity by 30% for flights to major domestic destinations on the peninsula, including Penang, Kota Bharu, Sabah, and Sarawak.

With states like Penang, Selangor, and Kuala Lumpur declaring 18 November (the day before voting day) a public holiday, the group CEO has also advised customers to book early.
