It’s that time of year again! Father’s Day weekend is upon us, and whether you’re looking to treat the father of your kids, your own dad, father-in-law, a close uncle, or any father figure in your life, well, we know that finding them an activity or gift is always a challenge — especially when they say they don’t need anything or you feel they’ve got everything.

So why not surprise him with something fun and meaningful instead? If you’re looking for fresh ways to celebrate Father’s Day with your favourite guy, read on.

1. Fishing at Jeti Sirip Biru, Bagan Lalang

This place is a favourite among seafood lovers! But besides good grub, many fishing packages, including deep sea and fishing while rafting, have made this area popular among fathers who enjoy the sport. Anglers can stay the night with their families or participate in an event at one of the more than 10 raft houses offered here. If visitors wish to experience a different ambience and discover solitude, they can stay and spend the night in the raft house perched along the riverbanks while enjoying leisurely fishing activities with family and friends.

3. Get schooled at the National Automobile Museum, Sepang International Circuit

Another one for those of you with motorheads for dads! Exploring our National Automobile Museum begins with the history of Malaysia’s transportation development, with early cars on display at the ground floor. Brushmobile and Ford Speedster are two examples of cars that have been used in Malaysia.

The Sepang International Circuit is the next stage, hosting sporting events such as Formula One races, International Super GT Series races, and MotoGP races. DRB-Hicom, PROTON, BUFORI, MODENAS, and PERODUA are some of the Malaysian companies that contribute to and improve the Malaysian automobile sector. Various collections of the company’s cars and motorcycles are on display here.

4. Dinner and dessert with The Marini’s Group

On Father’s Day, treat Dad to a lunch at Marini’s on 57 or Marble 8 for stunning views of KL city’s skyline. The Marini’s on 57 Restaurant serves great contemporary Italian food. Let Dad choose from antipasti, spaghetti, risotto, and main courses, and then wow him with an edible Robusto imitation prepared with coffee crémeux and praline feuilletine for dessert.

If the man of the house is in the mood for a meaty main course, look no farther than Marble 8’s mouthwatering steaks and more. Dessert at Marble 8 is a Chocolate Hazelnut Pave heart topped with a chocolate moustache.

4. Go on a staycation at Nafas Cube, MAEPS Serdang

Here’s a unique holiday idea — check into a cute little tube hotel! NAFAS Cube offers a peaceful respite from the city’s noise and pollution with its unique and comfortable accommodations. The National Farmers Organization (NAFAS) runs the location, which is popular with tourists searching for an exciting and distinctive agro-tourism experience. Expect to find hotel-style rooms constructed from containers and concrete sewer pipes.

For those who prefer camping vacations, NAFAS Cube also offers the experience of glamping or camping with beautiful lake views. Toilets are not far from the room for people who prefer culvert-style housing.

6. Get a gift from the Batik Boutique

And if all else fails, there’s always the option of getting him a tangyle present. The long sleeve batik shirts from Batik Boutique are perfect for dads who want to dress sustainably. Available in Purple Firework, Grey Firework, and Beige Kompas patterns. We especially love how dads can also match with their mini mes in these shirts!

There are other great gift options (from ties to aprons) too if you can’t picture him in print. Oh, and it’s for a good cause too, as the Batik Boutique supports local craftsmen and artisans.
