As Malaysians, there is no stopping us when we smell food on the street. Especially if you have foodie friends, you know a food detour is coming. Dining on the road offers so much variety, and there’s no denying Malaysians live for the variety. If possible, we’ll try everything on the menu!

Knowing our love for dining curbside, we’ve compiled a list of food trucks and stands that are a must-try for anyone who loves food hunting. And the more you hunt, you’re likely to end up with personal favourite food trucks. Here’s an extra tip: hire them for private events so you can have your favourite street food at your birthday party! Wouldn’t that be super cool?

Oh, and don’t forget to follow these businesses on social media for the latest updates on their whereabouts. Let’s get into it because we know you’re already drooling.

1. The Gorpis

Let’s start this list with none other than one of our Malaysian street food staples, pisang goreng (banana fritters)! It’s not just any ol’ pisang goreng, though — The Gorpis’ fried bananas are topped with grated cheese. And that’s not all, there are other toppings like their Gorpis Special Sauce that is sweet and spicy, Cheese Oreo, Cheese Butterscotch, Cheese Chocolate, and many more.
