International Women’s Day isn’t just about hashtags or flowers. It’s about community, movement, and celebrating the women around us.
In 2026, the global International Women’s Day theme “Give to Gain” highlights the idea that supporting, uplifting, and investing in women ultimately strengthens communities and society as a whole.
Across Kuala Lumpur and Selangor, that spirit is coming to life through wellness gatherings, leadership talks, fitness sessions, and community conversations. Whether you want to move, learn, connect, or simply celebrate the women in your life, here are some IWD 2026 events in KL and Selangor worth putting on your calendar.
Sweat It Out with the Girls at REVL Training
Start the celebrations early with a special workout session at REVL Training on Saturday, 7 March. The gym is inviting members to bring along one female guest for free, making it the perfect opportunity to introduce your mum, sister, best friend, or even that colleague who has been curious about your workouts.
The morning includes two sessions: SWEAT TEAM at 8:30am and RACE PREP at 9:30am, both held at Etiqa Towers KLCC (3rd Floor). Non-members are welcome too and can join by purchasing a Trial Pack or Drop-in Pack. Simply book your class in the REVL app and send the guest details to the studio to secure a spot.
Run, Walk, and Celebrate at PARC Subang Jaya
On Sunday, 8 March, the celebration continues with the International Women’s Day Fun Run at PARC Subang Jaya, themed “Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls.” Starting at 7:15am, the event encourages participants to run or walk alongside friends, sisters, mums, and daughters. It’s less about speed and more about coming together as a community.
The morning will also feature Michelle Chua, the top Malaysian female finisher at the Kuala Lumpur Standard Chartered Marathon 2025, who will be joining the run. Beyond the race, the event will include activities such as a drum circle, girls’ silat and wushu performances, storytelling for kids, inspiring talks, line dancing, and a breast cancer awareness workshop.
