The long-term effects of plastic trash continue to wreak havoc on the environment in various ways, making it one of the most pressing environmental issues of the 21st century. As a result, our oceans and rivers are subjected daily to trauma in the form of pollution by dumping.

Recently, Shangri-La Rasa Ria, Kota Kinabalu, teamed up with SEALA Group (Southeast Asia Leadership Academy), a MICE group staying at the hotel, for a community environment beach clean-up, showing their dedication to eradicating plastic waste.

70 volunteers from the USA, Germany, Canada, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Uzbekistan, and Azerbaijan participated. With the support of the hotel staff, they were able to help preserve the gorgeous Pantai Dalit beach, leaving it clean and spotless from unwanted rubbish.

All Shangri-La Rasa Ria guests are welcome to engage in this gotong-royong activity by signing up at the hotel’s Discovery Center. You can help make a difference during your next holiday at Shangri-La Rasa Ria by picking up litter while also having a fun day at the beach!

For parents, it will be a great way to cultivate a culture of care and responsibility for the environment, ocean, and marine life together with the kids.

Visit the hotel’s website for additional details.
