Putrajaya is another world of its own with its attractive parks, lakes, communal gardens, beautiful government buildings, scenic bridges, and pockets of greenery. It’s hard to imagine this site was once a marshland dominated by rubber and palm estates.
Now, Putrajaya can add another attraction to its long list: A beach.
Pantai Floria, a new intercity beach in Putrajaya, located in Tapak Floria, Presint 4, is ready to… (ahem) make a splash! What that means for the rest of us (especially those in the Klang Valley) is that we needn’t travel far for our dose of the beach. And we finally have another options besides Sepang’s Gold Coast or having to drive all the way to Port Dickson!
This 100-metre artificial beach project is part of Putrajaya Corporation’s (PPj) attempts to bring the Floria area back to life; which had been neglected quiet for a long time due to lack of visitors. PPj’s Chief Assistant Director of Lakes and Wetlands Environment, Wan Sabarudin Wan Ahmad mentioned the opening of the latest Floria Coast began in February 2022, coinciding with Provincial Day and Chinese New Year.
Some activities to look forward to here are kayaking, fishing, and camping.
Pantai Floria opened its doors to the public on Tuesday (1 March). In the days following its debut, many Malaysians posted photos and videos to TikTok of their visits to the artificial beach which also comes equipped with showers and toilets for beachgoers.
So, if you’re looking to plan a quick trip to a beach this weekend, Putrajaya’s Pantai Floria is a great option — especially with the school holidays coming up.
