As parents, we get the trials and tribulations of keeping children occupied. While it’s easy to plop a tablet in front of them, it’s not necessarily the best choice. With school holidays (looming) upon us, some of you parents out there might be scratching your head on what to do with the little ones. Well, we’ve got you sorted!

Keep your kids entertained and your sanity in check as they enjoy one of these activities.

Drama Holiday Programme, Kuala Lumpur

Do your kids love art and theatre? Do you often sit through their home performance of another rendition of ‘Let It Go’ from Frozen? Take your kids to a space where they can express themselves freely and creatively at Hush The Theatre Kuala Lumpur. Aiming to redefine performance through diversity, children and adults can experience excellent performance skills and at the same time have fun!

At the time of writing, they’re currently hosting a drama holiday programme for kids from the ages of five to 10 years old, and they’ll get to be part of the performance. Hurry, hurry, and sign your kids up!

Algorithmics Coding School, Petaling Jaya

As we fast forward into a digital age, coding has become more critical than ever. Much like being fluent in Mandarin, coding knowledge can also be a valuable skill to have. So, why not start them young? Especially your little ones that show extra interest in Mathematics!

Enrol your kids in a coding class to become fluent in digital literacy. While plenty of coding classes are available within the Klang Valley, we recommend giving Algorithmics Coding School a go!

KidZania, Mutiara Damansara

When it comes to kids, the learning never stops! We can promise you that this is among the most fun things you can do with your kids — and there’s something for every kiddo aged one to 14! KidZania is essentially a pint-sized replica city spread over a sprawling 80,000 square feet of space.

In this fun-sized town, your kids will be able to participate in over 70 role-playing activities (from vet to pilot to delivery kid to construction worker) that will either see them earning or spending ‘money’ while getting their ‘passports’ stamped. As fun as it is to learn about the various industries, the overall goal is to teach children financial literacy as the town currency ‘kidZo’ can either be spent or ‘saved’ at the KidZania Bank as a ‘long-term’ investment. Opt for the latter, and you’ll quickly be coming back.

Get your tickets for less here. Prices vary according to child’s age.
