Popular tourist spots in Malaysia are experiencing near pre-pandemic levels of demand as the country’s lockdown restrictions are eased. When the Langkawi travel bubble was first announced in September, AirAsia saw a considerable increase in the number of passengers on flights to the island.

Flights are now back in the air, but a new question arises: How can tourists get around the island in the most efficient and cost-effective manner? There’s just one answer to this question: an AirAsia Ride!

The new ride-hailing platform, which was launched in August 2021, provides solutions for guests who need a ride to their destinations as soon as they land, and is available in one single super app.

Aside from providing free COVID-19 self-test kits to all of their chauffeurs, AirAsia Ride also ensures that all of their chauffeurs are completely vaccinated. There are tight rules for drivers, such as always wearing a face mask and a QR code for each vehicle, to ensure that their rides are always in the best possible condition for passengers.

Nevertheless, AirAsia Ride has come to realise that there is a great deal more that can be done.

In the latest move to improve safety on the ground, AirAsia Ride is collaborating with Trapo, a leading local automotive accessories brand, to add new hygiene features to cars for a better passenger experience.

Introducing Trapo Rides on AirAsia Ride, passengers can find a special ‘Trapo Rides’ option when they book their next ride that includes new hygiene features.

Trapo Asia’s team installs a Nano Pro Coating technology in cars that eliminates 99.9% of bacteria and viruses while also eliminating and preventing bad odour from lingering in the car. Each driver is also given an Oxtra Handheld Vacuum V2 for them to easily clean their cars regularly.

AirAsia Ride is available in the Klang Valley, Penang, Ipoh, Seremban, Melaka, and Johor Bahru, apart from Langkawi.
