Peep Coffee in Bangsar puts a fun spin on the classic grilled cheese with their Grilled Vegetable & Cheese Melt. It’s packed with charred veggies and gooey cheese. It is comfort food without the guilt. If you’re trying to keep it meat-free but still crave something indulgent, this one hits the spot. But if you wanna go with something with a little more meat, we quite like their Chicken Ham & Cheese Melt option. Pro tip: order it with their speciality coffee or matcha to round things out.

2. Dough & Dolce, TTDI
This laid-back, neighbourhood favourite food spot in TTDI takes grilled cheese to the next level with their Chipotle Sourdough Grilled Cheese. The house-made sourdough is crisped to golden perfection and carries a subtle chipotle kick that adds just the right amount of smoky heat. Inside, it’s a dreamy melt of mozzarella, cheddar, and Monterey Jack doing exactly what cheese should do—stretch and ooze. Add a bowl of their roasted pepper tomato soup on the side, and you’ve got the kind of meal that makes the world feel right again.

3. VCR Stacks, Mont Kiara
When it comes to sandwiches, there are few that do it REALLY well, and this one place is a personal favourite that hits the mark. VCR Stacks isn’t messing around with their 2 Cheese Toasties. It’s grilled cheese, but make it gourmet. Packed with a melty mix of cheddar and mozzarella, this toastie brings serious flavour depth without losing that nostalgic comfort. It’s rich, a little fancy (thanks to the mustard mayo), and perfect for anyone who takes their grilled cheese seriously. If you’re craving a grown-up upgrade to your childhood fave, this is the one. 4. Provisions, Damansara Jaya
If your idea of self-care involves carbs and cheese (and whose doesn’t?), Provisions has your back with their next-level grilled cheese and tomato soup combo. Taking inspiration from California bakeries and Melbourne cafes, they’ve created what might be the perfect rainy day meal.
Their toastie has a crust that’s almost like cheese frico—crunchy, savoury, and slightly nutty. Inside, the cheddar melts into that ideal gooey centre. The accompanying tomato soup isn’t an afterthought either—it’s thick, tangy, and clearly made with actual tomatoes, not just from opening a can.
This is the meal equivalent of cancelling plans to stay in with your favourite show.

5. Yeast Bistronomy, Bangsar
