More Malaysians are turning their vacations into self-care escapes. According to new insights from Traveloka’s 2024 ‘Travel Redefined’ APAC study, 31% of Malaysians now see travel primarily as a way to rest and recharge, a trend that is shaping how and where they holiday in 2025. With Traveloka’s upcoming 10.10 Travel Sale, Malaysians have more reasons to pack their bags for a well-deserved reset.

The beaches of Kota Kinabalu, Penang, and Langkawi are topping Malaysians’ search lists in 2025, proving that the best wellness escapes don’t always require long-haul flights. These destinations offer the perfect mix of sandy coastlines, tropical nature, and rejuvenating experiences—ideal for travellers who want a quick but meaningful getaway.

Hotels remain popular, but resorts and villas are gaining ground as top accommodation choices. More travellers are seeking private spaces with scenic views and restful amenities that allow them to slow down and fully unplug. Whether it’s waking up to the sound of waves or enjoying a sunset poolside, resorts are increasingly the go-to choice for a wellness-centric holiday.

Massages and spas remain favourites, but wellness travel is branching out. Travellers are turning to cultural rituals such as onsens, reflexology for relaxation, and even medical aesthetic treatments that combine beauty with wellbeing. Destinations in Indonesia, Thailand, and Malaysia are leading the way with varied offerings, while places like Yogyakarta and Da Nang are emerging as new go-to spots for cultural, nature-based, and sleep-focused retreats.

From 1–10 October 2025, Traveloka is offering big savings to make wellness travel more accessible. Highlights include 50% off flights with Malaysia Airlines (2–3 Oct) and Singapore Airlines (8–9 Oct). From 1–7 October, travellers can enjoy half-price deals on flights and hotels across Malaysia, Southeast Asia, and East Asia.

To wrap things up, 8–10 October brings RM100 flights to Kuching, Kota Kinabalu, and Jakarta, plus hotel deals in top domestic spots, and ‘Buy 1 Free 1’ travel activities.
