If you’re looking for a new hobby or skill to pick up this year, hold your horses, as we’ve got a list of some of the finest stables and riding schools in the Klang Valley. Apart from being a great sport and form of exercise, horse riding is also known to be quite therapeutic for many people.

Though it is physically demanding and comes with its fair share of risks, horse riding’s benefits far outweigh the cost. So giddy up, and let’s get right to it. (We’re done with the horsey puns, we promise.)

One of the more well-known places to learn horseback riding is the Putrajaya Equestrian Park. Often hosting polo matches, the park avails itself to the public from all walks of life. Kids and adults are welcome to take short joy rides, go on stable tours, and have professional photoshoots done here.

But its main appeal is its Horse Riding School. Ranging from RM600 to RM900, they offer beginner, intermediate, and advanced-level packages. Each lesson involves coaching students in their horsemanship and maintaining and caring for these precious animals. Lessons are taught by professional and experienced trainers.

Glancing at 3Q Equestrian Centre feels like a glimpse into the cool kids’ club. The 30-acre privately-owned estate was founded in 1990. Surrounded by manicured lush greens, a vast grazing paddock, a stunning lake, polished stables, and an arena designed to host training and competitions, the 3Q Equestrian Centre serves an elite group of riders.

Upholding a high standard in both facilities and training, the school may not be easily accessible to everyone, but it is a good option for more experienced riding students who plan on advancing their skills to take on high-level competitions representing the nation. The programme tailors the training of each horse with consideration of their performance and requirements, as well as the owner and riders’ goals for their horse.
