In the bustling heart of Kuala Lumpur, a new beacon of tranquillity has emerged amidst the cityscape: Lloyd’s Inn. Opening its doors on 1 April 2024, Lloyd’s Inn Kuala Lumpur promises to redefine the hospitality landscape with its contemporary design, designed to bring the outdoors indoors and allow guests to experience a slice of “Bali” within an urban city.

Situated in the busy Imbi neighbourhood, Lloyd’s Inn KL is only 200 meters from the newly constructed Exchange 106 mall, which is the second-tallest structure in Malaysia, at TRX.

Less than 2.5 kilometres away are the famous Petronas Twin Towers, Pavilion Mall, Bukit Bintang, and KLCC. Lloyd’s Inn KL provides travellers of all stripes with a getaway from the bustle of the city, whether they are there for business or pleasure.

Lloyd’s Inn Kuala Lumpur is a 15-story hotel with 110 rooms, unlike its low-rise sister buildings in Singapore and Bali. The rooms are 17 to 50 square meters in size and have a jacuzzi, F&B, co-working area, event and conference spaces, and a dipping pool.

While adding new features like retro swings in the sky and keeping the iconic outdoor bathrooms and bathtubs that evoke a Bali experience, Lloyd’s Inn KL is housed inside a tall building.

The landmark building is noticeable from a distance because of the lush plants that cascade out of it, creating a green architectural façade that contrasts with the skyscrapers of Kuala Lumpur. The distinctive outdoor features of Lloyd’s Inn Singapore & Bali, such as cement walls, floors, and raw finishes, are carried over into the high-rise city version of the hotel, including outdoor showers and floors.

Dedicated to sustainability, Lloyd’s Inn is a real and breathing example of a green hotel—literally!—and it represents their commitment to improving the Earth for coming generations. Every year, the team keeps updating all of the properties to implement more environmentally friendly practices.

Examples include switching from plastic to paper amenities and substituting pump dispensers for single-use shower bottles. The natural ventilation found throughout Lloyd’s Inn’s hallways reduces the need for constant air conditioning.

The on-site eating F&B brand of Lloyd’s Inn is called Opeum Bistro. The brand carefully selects a menu in each location that highlights the cuisine of the host nation, working with a local chef to create the menu. Opeum Bistro KL champions regional specialities and Malaysian cuisine made using fresh products from the area.

Under the direction of local chef Izzat and chef Sharon Gonzago, Opeum Bistro offers innovative takes on historical dishes from throughout the world to suit the tastes of the current palate.

Savour a leisurely afternoon at The Tea Room or people-watch in the main dining area of Opeum Bistro, which overlooks the KL skyline and the TRX building. The menu can be found here.

Lloyd’s Inn collaborates with local artists on many projects, including postcards and art exhibits across all sites. A three-meter-tall hand-painted wall mural called “Stroll The Forest Trail” by Malaysian artists Geraldine and Vincent (The Octre Home) can be found at Lloyd’s Inn KL.

With its contemporary design and commitment to sustainability, Lloyd’s Inn sets a new standard for urban hospitality, inviting guests to experience the art of living well amidst the chaos of modern life. Information about Rooms & Facilities can be found here while the design process by the FARM architect can be found here.
