Soft silhouettes, ultra-luxurious fabrics, and a sleek appeal — these are the qualities synonymous with Malaysian fashion label Alia Bastamam. Created for and admired by strong, modern women because of the powerful messages of femininity her collections convey, the eponymous designer is a household name for her Lebaran collections, bridal couture, and resortwear.
But for her most recent 2023 resort collection, she’s kicked things up a notch with the addition of a capsule collection inspired by The Datai — a luxury property on the sunny Malaysian island of Langkawi. And the collection’s name, Oasis, couldn’t be more perfect.
The Datai Langkawi is a stunning destination resort that fits into its natural surroundings and set within the heart of a 10 million-year-old rainforest. Every room, suite, and villa at the resort is encircled by thick tropical rainforest, and each one has a private balcony with breathtaking views.
Six sophisticated pieces from Alia Bastamam’s new release were reinterpreted into designs inspired by the natural beauty of The Datai, from the resort’s signature water lily pond to the hidden Crystal Creek and the soothing waves of Datai Bay.
Wrapped in earth tones with bouquets of chartreuse and rose, towering caftans in pure white, an assortment of Alia’s distinctive pleats built for the warrior lady, soft flowing drapes, and wraps are used to emphasise romance and femininity.
As part of a special donation to The Datai Pledge, 5% of all Alia Bastamam x The Datai Langkawi partnership sales across all channels will go toward protecting the island’s flora and fauna.
The six elegant looks are now available for purchase exclusively at The Boutique of The Datai Langkawi, the Alia Bastamam website or by appointment at the Alia Bastamam showroom in Bukit Damansara, Kuala Lumpur.
