The highly-anticipated Obstacle Warrior 2021 National Championships Malaysia is approaching, and it’s calling out for those who love a physical adventure. Set to be held at Escape Petaling Jaya in Paradigm Mall, obstacle racers will compete across three weekends, where they will get to showcase their abilities. This event also marks the championship’s first time being held in a shopping mall!
The championships will see up to 400 contestants compete against one another to get to the final 20, where they will battle each other out for the top spot on 19 December 2021.
Now a nationwide phenomenon, Obstacle Racing is no longer a TV series you watch, but an actual sport you can be a part of by competing. Some gyms nationwide have also started introducing obstacle race facilities, and there are communities formed!
Malaysian Obstacle Race Sports Association (MORSA) was founded in 2015. Malaysia was the first country to have its Obstacle Race Sports Association.
“The Obstacle Warrior League and National Championships are the kinds of events which raise the bar and set new standards for sporting events in Malaysia. This is definitely a one-of-its-kind sports event, which is highly entertaining and should not be missed. With the COVID-19 pandemic keeping us home most of last year and this year, I know there are many who turned their homes into gyms and even created mini obstacle courses to work out. So, it is time to put all your training and skills to the test in this obstacle course,” said Alex Cheah, President of MORSA.
Keeping the COVID-19 pandemic in mind, those competing are to arrive 90 minutes beforehand and comply with all rules and regulations set by the organiser. To limit crowding and comply with standard operating procedures, only 30 competitors are to compete within the hour, individually.
Registration ends today, 30 November 2021, so hurry and secure yourself a spot in the competition! Those interested can register here.
