Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur sets the scene for a stylish Galentine’s staycation with skyline views, good food, and city escape energy.
We skipped the usual Valentine’s plans for a girls’ night out (or in) at Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur because, honestly, Valentine’s Day, a day of love and appreciation, can go far beyond the usual romance and couple-centric celebrations.
And while I fully believe love and appreciation should be shown all 365 days of the year (not just on one day), it’s pretty cute to have a dedicated excuse to go all out.
I had never actually stayed in a hotel right in the heart of Kuala Lumpur before, so this felt like the perfect opportunity for a quick luxury staycation—and even better, I got to share it with my bestie. Here’s what we got up to, and why Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur is the perfect spot for a short but memorable girls’ getaway in the city.
The city feels different from up here

First things first, parking was super convenient, with plenty of spaces available for hotel guests. We took the lift up to the ground floor, where the concierge and check-in area are located.
Since we booked the Traders Club Twin Towers View Room, we had the option to check in either at the main lobby or at the Traders Club Lounge on Level 32. The lobby had a bit of a queue, so we decided to head straight up to the Club Lounge instead. (Quick note: this option is only available if you’re staying in a Traders Club Room or Suite.)
As soon as we reached the lounge, we were greeted by a warm and welcoming staff member who guided us through the check-in process. While waiting, we helped ourselves to some complimentary light snacks and drinks, which already made the whole experience feel a little more special.
And then there was the view.
The Club Lounge has a direct, uninterrupted view of the KLCC Twin Towers, and we were genuinely blown away. With KLCC Park sitting right between Traders Hotel and the Twin Towers, it really does feel like the hotel is in one of the most iconic spots in the city. Lucky is honestly an understatement.
A room with a serious view (and perks)
Just when we thought the view from the Club Lounge couldn’t be topped, we stepped into our room… and it completely proved us wrong. The view from our window was honestly mind-blowing. According to the staff, our room was one of the best in terms of layout, size, and the Twin Towers view, and after seeing it for ourselves, we totally understood why.
The room was spacious, cosy, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. One of our favourite little touches was the daybed by the window, which was basically made for lounging, chatting, and soaking in that postcard-worthy skyline.
The bed was also incredibly comfortable, you know, the kind where you sink in immediately and feel like you’re floating on clouds. And when night fell, and the city lit up? The view turned surreal.
I’ve never been much of a city girl, but this stay genuinely made me rethink everything. We even ended up sleeping with the curtains wide open because… why wouldn’t you, when you’ve got one of the tallest towers glowing right outside your window?
Aside from the stunning view (and the exclusive check-in option), splurging on this room also comes with access to the Club Lounge (which comes with its own set of perks) and Health Club, and a choice of enjoying the complimentary breakfast at Gobo Chit Chat or (again) the Club Lounge.
Dinner, drinks, and a skyline moment

A Galentine’s getaway is never complete without good food, and Traders Hotel delivered on that front. For dinner, we headed straight up to SkyBar on Level 33, and honestly… we were glad we had made a reservation.
The venue was fully booked when we arrived, which didn’t surprise us at all. (Quick tip: SkyBar is almost always packed, especially during festive seasons. If you’re planning a visit, it’s best to book in advance to secure your spot.)
SkyBar is the kind of place that’s lively enough to feel exciting, but not so loud that you can’t actually hear your friend speak. And of course, the view was a major highlight. If you’re hoping for the ultimate dinner-with-a-view moment, you’ll want to aim for one of the cabanas placed right by the windows facing the Twin Towers. These seats are on a first-come, first-served basis, though, and they come with a minimum spend of RM200. If you’re celebrating something, it’s definitely worth considering.
Our stay also aligned perfectly with Traders’ Valentine’s Day promotion, Love On The Menu, which ran at both SkyBar and Bara On Six. The promotion featured its own curated dining set, but we decided to explore other items on the regular menu instead.
Portion-wise, we were genuinely impressed. Everything came in generous servings, perfect for sharing, and definitely worth the price.
To be completely honest, I didn’t go in with very high expectations (because how good can bar food really be?), but I’m happy to report that I was proven very wrong yet again. The food at SkyBar was actually delicious.
My personal favourite had to be the Shoyu Braised Short Ribs Pizza, which was flavourful and easily the one dish we kept going back for.
To top it all off, there was a live band performing that night, and the music paired perfectly with the overall vibe of the space. It felt fun, but still relaxed and not overwhelming.
With the combination of good food, great music, and that unbeatable view… would we go back? 100%.
Mornings worth waking up for

Since we had the option to enjoy breakfast either at the Club Lounge or Gobo Chit Chat, we naturally were curious. So we decided to check out both venues to see if there was any real difference.
We started off at Gobo Chit Chat, and I have to say, I was genuinely surprised by the number of guests. Firstly, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a queue for a hotel breakfast buffet before, but there we were, waiting to be seated because it was that packed. Secondly, it was unexpected because, from walking around the hotel earlier, it didn’t actually feel like there were that many guests.
If anything, that’s a plus point for Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur. Even when the hotel is clearly hosting a large number of people, the overall atmosphere still doesn’t feel too busy, chaotic, or cramped.
Once we got in, we scanned Gobo Chit Chat’s wide spreads of Western options and local favourites; there’s definitely something for everyone. That said, because of the crowd and fast turnover, a few stations were still waiting to be refilled when we arrived. It wasn’t a major deal, but it did mean we had to be a little patient while certain dishes were topped up.
After that, we headed up to the Traders Club Lounge for comparison. The selection here leaned more towards continental breakfast options and pastries, and while the variety is definitely more limited compared to Gobo Chit Chat, the experience felt completely different. The crowd was much smaller, and it felt far more relaxed overall.
So if you’re deciding between the two, it really depends on what kind of breakfast mood you’re in. If you want variety and don’t mind a livelier atmosphere, Gobo Chit Chat is the way to go. But if you’re after a quieter start to the day (with a view that does not disappoint), the Club Lounge might be the better pick.
Local flavours, luxe setting

The next morning, after checking out, we headed down to Gobo Chit Chat for one last meal. This time, we decided to try their Rasa Malaysia menu, which features classic local staples.
We were especially excited for the Curry Laksa because it looked so good on the menu, but unfortunately, it was out of stock that day (heartbreaking, honestly). So instead, we went for the Nasi Lemak and the Char Kuey Teow.
Thankfully, both delivered. The portions were generous and filling. The kind of meal that works perfectly as a brunch or even a proper lunch. It was a satisfying way to wrap up the getaway.
Rest, reset, repeat
If you’re the type who likes to make the most of a hotel stay (or you simply don’t want to spend your entire stay in bed — no judgment), Traders Hotel has plenty to keep you occupied.
For starters, the swimming pool ( on Level 33) is actually connected to SkyBar, which is very on-brand for a hotel that loves a good view. The pool is open daily from 6am to 7pm, so whether you’re up for an early morning dip or a relaxing swim before sunset, it’s definitely a nice way to unwind.
If your version of a getaway involves maximum relaxation, you’ll want to check out theSPA, which is open from 11am to 8pm. And if you’re feeling extra lazy (and don’t want to leave the comfort of your room), they also offer in-room massage services from 12pm to 9pm. Peace and relaxation, delivered straight to you, exactly how it should be.
And for anyone who still wants to keep up with their fitness routine while travelling, the Health Club Gymnasium is open 24 hours, which makes it super convenient. I was surprised by how well-equipped the gym was too, packed with a wide variety of machines and free weights. Not giving the typical “hotel fitness space” energy at all…
Overall verdict: The staycation that actually feels like one
Is Traders Hotel worth it for a girls’ staycation? Absolutely! We had an amazing time during our short stay, and we were genuinely tempted to extend it just so we could live the whole experience all over again.
Between the delicious food, the endless catch-ups and girl talk, and just how convenient everything was, Traders Hotel delivered exactly the kind of Galentine’s getaway we had pictured.
If you’re looking for a quick reset with your besties (or even a treat-yourself moment), this is definitely one stay worth checking into.
