There are so many different ways of getting your love language across this Mother’s Day, but this year, quality time might just be it. While a special brunch is nice, kicking it up a notch with something else rather than the usual sugar, spice, and everything nice can make for countless cherished conversations to reminisce with your mum in the future.
1. Garden in Mama’s Basket:
A Floral Arrangement Workshop with Flora Hera
Buying flowers for mum is easy—you could even do it every day. But crafting different combinations of flowers together with her might be even more worthwhile. The best part? Flora Hera celebrates mums and Mother Earth alike. Their foam-free technique using baskets is a sustainable alternative to foam floral arrangements.
Fara, the brain behind Flora Hera, intends to curate an intimate and fulfilling time for all participants. In her very first Mother’s Day special workshop, there are only limited spots available (6 pax), so be quick before they get snagged up! You know what else is cool? You or your mum might stand the chance to win a complimentary stay at KLoé Hotel’s exclusive Room To Grow Artist Loft.
Venue: Living Room, KLoé Hotel (G floor)
Date: 11 May 2025, Sunday
Fee: RM399 per pax (inclusive of one welcome drink)
2. Couple Acrylic Painting Workshop at Teja Studio
Creative bonding makes the heart fonder. Have a relaxing time with the ‘Queen of your Heart’ on her special day through an acrylic painting workshop at Teja Studio. On top of painting, word on the street is that you should expect surprise activities Teja Studio has in store. As a lovely addition to the special occasion, Teja Studio is also gifting all mums present free flowers.
Venue: Teja Studio, B5, The Stories of Taman Tunku
Date: 11 May 2025
Fee: RM180 per pax
3. Rug Tufting Workshop at Tuftme
Are you scouring the internet for a cheesy yet cute rug in replacement of your mum’s current old, matted one? I see you. Well, why not make it cheesier with a self-made one? Rug tufting is an increasingly popular craft and is sure to pique mum’s interest as a unique activity.
While Tuftme does not have a special Mother’s Day session, you could still book a workshop through their page for a personal celebration. Alternatively, Tuftme also offers neon light workshops if you find that might tickle mum’s fancy more.
Venue: Tuftme, 40-1, Jalan SS2/66, PJ
Date: By reservation
Fee: RM188 to RM550 per pax (subject to type of workshop)
4. Perfume Making Workshop with Julyana Scent Studio
Throughout May, in conjunction with Mother’s Day, Julyana Scent Studio is offering 10% off their perfume making workshop when you bring your mum along for a session. Embark on an olfactory journey as the instructor guides you and your mum through discovering your personal scents. Like a personal Pensieve (Harry Potter reference), your final perfumes from this memorable day will help you relive memories of spending quality time with your mum every time you take a spritz.
Venue: Julyana Scent Studio, E-2-6, Plaza Arkadia, Desa Parkcity
Date: By reservation (Mother’s Day offer runs through May 2025)
Fee: RM148 to RM238 per pax (subject to type of workshop)
5. Mother’s Day Creative Experience by The Fluid Box
Looking forward to spending the day with your mum dipping your toes in all things new? The all-in-one Mother’s Day Creative Experience by The Fluid Box will give you just that. With three fantastic workshops and unique experiences offered, Mother’s Day has never been more special. Expect to make fluid art, and create custom lipsticks and your own perfume, all while savouring a refreshing cone of premium Matcha ice cream.

6. Glass Lampworking Workshop with Beary Lampwork
From glass rings to glass bouquets, Beary Lampwork brings it all to the table for whatever glass lampworking adventure you and your mum might need this coming Mother’s Day. For beginners, they provide one-day classes where you can spend a day crafting beautiful rings and flowers. You’ll learn the art of melting glass using a torch or lamp in a safe and professionally controlled environment. Something as delicate as glass art will be a precious reminder of the special day spent mum, wouldn’t you agree?
Venue: Beary Lampwork Studio, 16-3, Kompleks Komersil Akasa
Date: By reservation
Fee: RM160 to RM330 per pax (subject to type of workshop)
7. Pottery Workshop with Beary Potter Studio
Looking for a classic, hands-on workshop? Get down and dirt-y (get it?) at a pottery workshop with Beary Potter Studio. Much like their newer lampworking classes in Seri Kembangan, Beary Potter Studio also provide one-day classes for a day’s journey into the world of ceramics.
A little suggestion from me? Make it so that you are both crafting a piece for the other. Nothing is lovelier than the idea of having a shared memory concealed in your special ceramic pieces. Pottery is a slow art, and you get to appreciate the time you spend together, especially if you are not sharing the comfort of the same roof with mum.
Venue: Beary Potter Studio (First outlet: A-7-1, Jalan C180/1, Dataran C180, Cheras; Second outlet: 2-43, Jalan Jalil Utama 2, Bukit Jalil)
Date: By reservation
Fee: RM180 to RM300 per pax (subject to type of workshop)
8. Pickleball with Trybe by Zafigo
As part of our new on-ground series—Trybe by Zafigo, we’re offering something memorable to do with your mum. Lace up your sneakers on, grab your paddles, and get ready for some laughs and friendly competition at our pickleball event on the 25th of May. If you or your mum (or both!) have been curious about trying this sport, this is the perfect chance to do it together. Bring along your friends and their mums too — it’s going to be a great time.
Venue: Pickle Nation Malaysia, Hicom-Glenmarie Industrial Park
Date: 25 May 2025
