When you first meet Naddy Rahman, one of the first things you’ll notice about her is her vivacity, if not for her stunning good looks. A presence that easily commands a room, Naddy is both brains and beauty — she’s a former lawyer, influencer, and now boss babe to two Malaysian beauty brands besides having established her footwear brand, My Alicia Sophia.

Needless to say, she’s a busy lass. When Naddy first graduated from law school, she acquired experience in criminal and corporate law for three years. But even from when she was still reading law, Naddy has long been an influencer and KOL, since 2012 to be exact. And it’s a side hustle that she maintains till today. To use her social media powers for good, she established My Alicia Sophia, which channels a portion of proceeds to special needs children.

Most recently, Naddy has added two more feathers to her already-full hat by becoming the Co-Founder and Head of Marketing to two Malaysian beauty brands (which you’ll read more about later on).

But it doesn’t end there.

Late last year, this beauty from Johor tied the knot with professional racer Jazeman Jaafar. Even as Naddy herself was a perennial traveller, now, with her husband by her side, they’re quite literally racing around the world. Here are her (and some of their) favourite places:

Your honeymoon looked like a fantastic tour of Europe. Which was your favourite spot as a couple?

Our favourite spot would be Rome, Italy! Simply because of the historical places we visited, the beautiful buildings, and of course, the food. We loved Trevi Fountain the most, as we found the sculptures and statues so beautifully built.

Despite its historical background, the Trevi Fountain has its legendary ritual and story where couples or lovers who drink water from the fountain will remain forever united and faithful, hence why it is known as the Love Fountain. Of course, we didn’t drink the water from the fountain, but we did enjoy spending our time eating gelatos together while appreciating the majestically-constructed fountain on a perfectly sunny day.

Where else did you go for your honeymoon?

London, Rome, and Florence. We were away from Malaysia for almost two months!

Favourite country in the world to holiday at.

I have yet to travel to A LOT of countries, but I must say London, UK. It just feels like home whenever I’m there.

As a big foodie, I can always count on the food being good here. And there are always plenty of new restaurants and cafes to try. Other than that, most of the brands I love are mostly there and easily accessible.

Which three cities around the world are your favourite and why?

London, UK: For the familiarity (the places, the food).
Bali, Indonesia: For the beach, beautiful waters, and how calming it is there.
Rome, Italy: For the history, beautiful buildings, and good food all the way.

City, mountain, or beach?

BEACH. Living in Kuala Lumpur (KL) has always been hectic, busy, and fast-paced. I try to sneak away to the beach whenever I can because it calms me. I love the sun, clear water, blue skies, and the sound of waves!

Where do you love going on your shopping trips?

Besides the usuals like Selfridges and Harrods where you can find everything under one roof, I enjoy street markets like the ones at Portobello and Camden. I get to find rare things there. I love thrift shopping around East London too. There are plenty of thrift stores there, and I can find cheap, vintage, cool outfits/shoes/accessories.

I enjoyed street markets and bazaars when I travelled to Spain at one time, but that was years back when I was a teenager. I would love to visit and go there again as I think I’d appreciate it even more now.

Tell us a bit about your current life as a KOL. Has it taken you anywhere interesting?

Being a KOL has always been a side income job for me since 2012. It has taken me to places I never imagined I’d go — like South Korea, where Dior Beauty Malaysia sent me in 2017 to represent Malaysia at one of their product launches! It was exciting and such a fun experience.

I’m currently running two online brands — Shop Nonsy and Frigid Beauty — as a Co-Founder and Head of Marketing for both brands full-time. Concurrently, as a side job, I am still active to this date in being a KOL.

Where to next? COVID-19 restrictions aside.

Spain, Jakarta, Bali, and anywhere around the Mediterranean Islands — my dream place to visit!

Where’s your favourite place to #cuticutiMalaysia?

Redang Island, Terengganu, due to its beautiful white sand, clear blue waters. The island is just beautiful, and her waters are safe to swim in. I spent five days straight at the beach with a group of friends after the first MCO was lifted in 2020, and it was one of the best trips I’ve had.

Where to you is the most underrated travel destination?

Honestly, I have yet to figure that out. I will need to travel more to interesting places first! 🙂
