Growing up, Christmas lunch was one of the things we most looked forward to each year. For this writer, we’d celebrate Christmas Eve with a blow-out at home that entailed opening presents, singing, eating, and all manners of merry-making. On Christmas night, we’d regularly go to a family member’s home that (pre-COVID days) would be spilling over with at least 200 guests. So, what do you do in between?

Hosting can be tiring, so we recommend filling that Christmas lunch (or dinner) downtime with a treat among family or friends who are family. Here are seven Christmas Day meals to indulge in at some of the Klang Valley’s finest hotels.

Shangri-La KL

Head over to Lemon Garden, the Shangri-La KL’s coffee house, for a sumptuous buffet spread. Tuck into some traditional Christmas must-haves and sweet treats with a variety of local and international cuisine, heaps of flavour, and a spoonful of class.

We particularly love the spiced hot chocolate and mulled wine that comes with the meal. And, as always, the dessert line is to-die-for! Another thing to note is that the meal is served as an assisted buffet, keeping strict SOPs.

Priced at RM298 per adult, RM149 per child.

Of course, all good meals must end on a sweet note, so expect to see a generous dessert spread, including Christmas Cookies, Christollen, and Live Nitrogen Ice Cream.
