For Millennials and Gen Z, travel isn’t just a luxury—it’s an essential form of self-care and rejuvenation. According to Klook’s latest Travel Pulse research, nearly all young travellers view travel as a powerful stress reliever. Still, 9 in 10 feel frustrated by barriers like work commitments, financial concerns, and time constraints. Despite these challenges, the desire to explore remains strong, with 92% experiencing post-travel blues and nearly 40% planning their next trip as soon as they return.
Budget-conscious, experience-driven travel

When it comes to spending, Millennials and Gen Z are strategic, prioritising experiences over extravagant travel costs. A staggering 91% allocate up to half their travel budget to immersive activities rather than splurging on flights or accommodations. Gen Z travellers, in particular, are drawn to bundled travel packages to stretch their spending, with a focus on unique and authentic experiences like local cuisine and hidden-gem destinations.
Social media plays a huge role in shaping their travel plans, with 79% booking activities, stays, and dining spots based on recommendations. Interestingly, 27% are even willing to pay up to 20% more for the perfect Instagram-worthy experience.
