Multi-city travel in Southeast Asia often means juggling multiple airlines, tickets, and timetables. Emirates aims to simplify that experience with the launch of the Emirates Asia Pass, a new travel option designed for flexible travellers who want to explore more of the region without the usual hassle.
The pass brings together several of Southeast Asia’s most compelling destinations under one booking, allowing travellers to move easily between countries on a single ticket — ideal for those planning multi-stop or open-ended journeys.
What Is the Emirates Asia Pass?
The Emirates Asia Pass is a flexible add-on to an international Emirates flight. Once travellers arrive in Southeast Asia, the pass allows them to book between one and ten regional flights, all managed under the same reservation.
Countries included in the pass:
- Thailand
- Indonesia
- Vietnam
- Malaysia
- Cambodia
- Singapore
- Laos
How it works

Travellers first book an international Emirates flight arriving in one of the eligible Southeast Asian countries. From there, they can customise their regional itinerary using the Asia Pass, selecting destinations and the number of flights that suit their travel plans.
Everything is issued on one ticket, eliminating the need to manage separate airlines or confirmations. Flights can be booked through the Emirates website, Emirates contact centres, ticketing offices, or travel agents.
If plans change, travellers can modify their flights later for a USD15 (approximately RM60) fee per change, offering flexibility for longer or more spontaneous trips.
Designed for flexible, curious travellers
The Asia Pass is especially appealing to travellers who prefer a non-linear, multi-stop travel style rather than rigid point-to-point itineraries. It’s created for those who want the freedom to shape their journey as they go.
With the pass, travellers can combine major cities with smaller regional hubs, revisit the same destination more than once, or build a route around personal interests such as food, festivals, beaches, culture, or nature. It also makes extending a stay far simpler, without the need to rebook multiple tickets or juggle airlines.
Seamless connections across the region

Key regional gateways such as Singapore, Bangkok, and Kuala Lumpur make it easy to start exploring. Onward flights are operated through partnerships with Bangkok Airways and Batik Air Malaysia, while Emirates also runs select regional services between Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia.
Who is the Emirates Asia Pass for?
This travel option is well-suited for long-haul travellers looking to visit multiple countries in one trip, as well as solo travellers, couples, and culture-focused explorers who value flexibility over fixed tours. It may also appeal to return visitors who want to go beyond first-time highlights and explore the region more deeply.
As travellers increasingly seek flexible, multi-stop travel, the Emirates Asia Pass offers a way to explore more destinations in a single trip without the complexity of managing multiple bookings.
Zafigo Checklist: Tips for the multi-city traveller
- Mind the baggage: While your international Emirates flight might offer a generous allowance, regional partners like Batik Air Malaysia or Bangkok Airways may have different weight limits for the Asia Pass sectors. Check your specific ticket tier to avoid surprise fees at smaller airports.
- The spontaneity safety net: One of the best perks for solo women is the USD15 change fee. If you find a community of fellow travellers in Bali and want to stay an extra four days, you can modify your next regional leg via the Emirates app without breaking the bank.
- Single-point accountability: Travelling across several countries usually means dealing with different customer service desks. With this pass, your entire regional journey is anchored to Emirates. If a flight is delayed or a connection is tight, you only have one app to check and one support line to call.
- Revisit with ease: Unlike traditional “linear” passes, the Asia Pass allows you to revisit the same city. Use a hub city like Kuala Lumpur or Bangkok as your “laundry and luxury” base between more rugged adventures in Laos or Cambodia.
