Enjoy paper goods? KL and PJ are full of stationery shops that do more than just sell supplies. They also create small worlds of creativity and comfort. (Left: Image by @mosseryco. Right: Image by @anatomy_co.)
There’s a kind of calm that only a good stationery shop can offer. You walk in for a pen refill, and suddenly, you’re neck-deep in textured notebooks, fancy pens, and those mysterious clips that look like they belong in a design museum. Basically, all the things that you didn’t come for in the first place. If you’ve been looking to upgrade your desk situation, get back into journalling, or want to touch some really nice paper, start here.
1. Ana Tomy
If you’ve always wanted a notebook that feels completely you, Ana Tomy gets it. This much-loved homegrown brand lets you customise pretty much every part of your journal; we’re talking even down to the colour of the binder. The shop is tucked inside the Zhongshan Building and has that minimalist aesthetic that’ll inspire you to clean up your space. Everything they make feels like it’s been considered, down to the last stitch.
What to check out: Custom planners, refillable notebooks, and their bags.
Address: 82G, Jalan Rotan, Jalan Kampung Attap, 50460 Kuala Lumpur
Phone: +6013 664 9921
2. Summorie
We can’t get enough of Summorie; the designs are sleek, smart, and fuss-free. Their signature hardcover planners come in earthy, muted tones with clean layouts that let you breathe, but don’t worry, there are options with pops of colour too. You won’t find busy prints or overly cute designs here; they are just solid, beautifully made books that do their job well and look good doing it.
They’ve kept things intentionally simple, which is great if you’re over fussy formats. At their new home in REXKL, expect to find notebooks and organisers, stickers, fountain pens, and other stationery goodies you can add to your collection.
What to check out: The Productivity Planner, clean grid notebooks, and anything in forest green.
Address: Ground Floor, REXKL, 80, Jalan Sultan, City Centre, 50000 Kuala Lumpur
3. Stickerrific
You don’t have to be someone who journals or even a scrapbooker to love Stickerrific. Upstairs in Jaya One, this shop is a cosy haven for journalling, snail mail, art, and all things analogue. It’s packed with washi tapes, fountain pens, watercolours, rubber stamps, and, of course, stickers. There are also a few resident cats roaming around, which adds to the shop’s personality. Stickerrific runs workshops too, and the staff are always happy to talk about ink flow or give personal recommendations.
What to check out: Fountain pen refills, bullet journal essentials, and their in-house sticker designs.
Address: C-31-G (Level G) Block C, Jaya One, Jalan Profesor Ungku Diraja Aziz, 46200 Petaling Jaya, Selangor

4. Kinokuniya
Kinokuniya may be a massive bookstore, but its stationery section is a sleeper hit. The Japanese imports alone are worth the trip and expensive parking: smooth-as-butter gel pens, Midori letter sets, Muji-style planners, and display shelves that appease the perfectionist in you. If you’ve got a soft spot for Japanese paper culture, you’ll spend a good hour here without meaning to. It’s not intimate or niche, but the variety here is unmatched.
What to check out: Everything

5. Mossery
Mossery is all about creative tools that make you want to sit down and start organising life, work, and otherwise. Their signature product is a fully customisable planner or sketchbook where you choose the cover art, layout, and paper type. It feels personal but also polished. The brand has also expanded into art supplies, from gouache paints to brush pens. Everything’s made with a light, artistic touch, cheerful without being childish.
What to check out: Custom sketchbooks, dated/undated planners, and their artist collaboration covers.

6. CzipLee
CzipLee is the ultimate stationery shop. It’s been around forever, but over the years, it has grown into a genuinely impressive space for both school supplies and serious stationery. The Bangsar store, especially, has evolved into an impressive hub that has the potential to harness your creativity. There’s also something satisfying about finding fancy ink pens next to pastel highlighters.
Like, how many pastel highlighters does one need? Apparently, when you’re at CzipLee, it’s more than one. Whether you’re into art, journalling, or really love organising your week, CzipLee is worth browsing in person, and trust us; you’ll lose track of time in their stores.
What to check out: Fountain pens, brush pens, art journals, and paper pads that won’t ghost.

7. Phavourite
Phavourite is the kind of shop where you stop in “just to look” and leave with three (or more) things you didn’t plan to buy. It’s more of a lifestyle boutique than a full-on stationery store, but what it does carry is curated with real taste: softcover journals, memo pads, beautiful notecards, and the list goes on. The space is Japanese-inspired, warm, calm, and just the right kind of quiet. It is a solid go-to if you like your stationery with a little personality.
What to check out: Artist-led notebooks, niche pens, and thoughtful, design-forward cards.
