HPL Hotels & Resorts is excited to introduce the latest addition to its Boutique Collection—The Boathouse Pulau Tioman, which will open in July 2024. Located on the stunning southwest coast of Pulau Tioman, this luxurious retreat offers the perfect mix of serenity, adventure, and sophisticated hospitality.

Escape to a secluded beachfront sanctuary that captures the essence of Pulau Tioman’s breathtaking natural beauty and traditional Malay architecture. Accessible only by boat, this 31-bungalow resort boasts a private jetty, ensuring an exclusive and serene retreat. Nestled within the protected haven of Pulau Tioman, a designated wildlife reserve and marine park, this getaway promises a genuinely tranquil and enchanting experience.

The Boathouse Pulau Tioman perfectly balances luxury with ecological and cultural preservation. Dedicated to maintaining the island’s rich biodiversity and celebrating its indigenous heritage, this retreat offers an authentic and enriching experience for all visitors who come to stay.

Guests can wake up to the sound of waves and stunning sea views in charming beachfront bungalows crafted from renewable, locally sourced timber. Each bungalow features a private terrace with a daybed, providing a perfect spot to unwind and enjoy the serene surroundings. With direct beach access, these accommodations blend indoor comfort with outdoor beauty.

Ideal for families or groups, the Beach House offers spacious, flexible living with separate bedrooms, a living area, and a dining area. This two-level structure includes two suites and a loft, which can be booked together or separately. They offer privacy and communal spaces that cater to every need.

Guests at The Boathouse Pulau Tioman can indulge in various enriching activities. Learn the secrets of traditional Malaysian cuisine through cooking demonstrations or immerse yourself in local culture with kite-making and traditional games like Congkak, Batu Seremban, and Aji checkers.

For outdoor enthusiasts, the island offers plenty of adventures. Enjoy a leisurely trek at Kampung Mukut, marvel at the iconic ‘Dragon Horns’ and the breathtaking Kampung Asah Waterfall, or discover the 300-year-old Mother Willow tree near Kampung Paya. Thrill-seekers can experience rock climbing on Tioman’s impressive sandstone boulders.

A stay here wouldn’t be complete without exploring the vibrant waters of Pulau Tioman—dive or snorkel among colourful coral reefs, with options for all skill levels. Take advantage of on-site diving programs, from leisure dives to PADI-certified courses, ensuring an unforgettable underwater adventure.

For guests preferring above-water activities, The Boathouse Pulau Tioman offers sunset cruises, fishing adventures with local experts, and boat excursions to Coral Island and Renggis Island. From March to October, you may also witness volunteers protecting turtle species, adding a unique touch to your visit.

At The Boathouse Pulau Tioman, protecting and preserving nature is paramount. The resort collaborates with environmental groups and social enterprises on green projects to reduce environmental impact and inspire guests and the community in marine conservation efforts. Partnering with Reef Check Malaysia, The Boathouse supports marine conservation at Pulau Tioman.

With their help, the resort assessed coral conditions in Kampung Nipah and ensured reef protection during construction. The collaboration continues, focusing on coral rehabilitation with marine biologist Alvin Chelliah.

Additionally, The Boathouse has teamed up with Ayer Ayer Project to install ‘Whale You Refill’ drinking water fountains at the dive centre and dining hall, encouraging guests to use reusable bottles and reduce plastic waste. Soon, ‘rePlastic’ workshops will be introduced to educate staff and guests on ocean plastic issues.
