If you’re planning a family trip to Penang this festive season, Penang Bird Park has just added a new reason to put it on your itinerary.

The park has officially opened its new Reptile House, a fully indoor attraction that brings visitors up close to a fascinating mix of reptiles, amphibians, and other cold-blooded species from around the world. Best of all, there’s no extra ticket needed. Entry is already included with the park’s standard admission.

Designed with families in mind, the Reptile House offers a comfortable, weather-proof experience that’s easy to enjoy with kids of all ages. Inside, you’ll find an impressive lineup of animals, including the Rhinoceros Iguana, Sailfin Dragon, Green Basilisk Lizard, Golden Python, Ball Python, Crocodile Skink, Emperor Scorpion, Bearded Dragon, Leopard Gecko, Salamanders, and even Sulcata baby tortoises. Several of these species are rarely seen in Malaysian attractions, making the visit both educational and a little adventurous.

What makes the experience even more memorable is the limited-time hands-on opportunity available to visitors. Until 31 December 2025, guests can gently touch and take photos with selected animals such as a Ball Python, Blue-tongued Skink, Lutino Iguana, and even some surprisingly cuddly guinea pigs. It’s a great chance for children to overcome fears, ask questions, and see these animals up close in a safe, supervised setting.

The timing couldn’t be better for families travelling during the school holidays and year-end celebrations. With the Reptile House located indoors, it’s an easy stop even if the weather doesn’t cooperate, and it pairs well with the rest of the park’s attractions for a full day out.

There’s also a bonus for parents planning ahead. Visitors who pre-book their tickets online through the official Penang Bird Park website can enjoy an exclusive 20% discount on admission.
