Travelporn is real and it is alive and thriving on Instagram! The social media giant has released its Year in Review, which reveals the most liked photos of the year, the most popular #PetsOfInstagram and of course, the most Instagrammed travel destinations. This year’s most Instagrammed cities and locations, surveyed based on geotags, came as a surprise as neither Lonely Planet’s nor TripAdvisor’s top picks made it to the list. Instead, Russia caught us by surprise with two top cities while Jakarta and Japan sneaked in as the only Asian destinations. The most Instagrammed cities of 2017 are:
New York, New York
Moscow, Russia
