The FIFA World Cup 2022 is just around the corner, and Qatar Airways Group and Qatar Tourism have announced big events to give football fans top-notch entertainment, including Qatar Live, which will feature more than 60 international performers.

Aside from organising events — like Qatar Live, the Daydream Music Festival, a brand activation on Lusail Boulevard, the Qatar Airways Sky House, Winter Wonderland, and the naming ceremony for the MSC World Europa cruise ship — the airline has also revealed plans to build beach clubs, fan zones, and theme parks with partners including Qatar Tourism, Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, and Qatari Diar.

Here are the 12 live acts to look forward to during the World Cup:

1. FIFA Onboard Experience

Setting the stage with a one-of-a-kind in-flight experience is the official airline partner for FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. Many exciting FIFA World Cup-themed items and events will be available to passengers flying on Qatar Airways during the football season.

Football memorabilia may be found throughout the cabin; including amenity kits, headphones, cushions, and menus. Kids will love the handpicked selection of travel essentials and stuffed animals they have put together just for them.

The official airline of the Journey Qatar Airways Oryx One In-flight Entertainment system will be home to more than 180 football related titles, including an exclusive interview with FIFA president Gianni Infantino. Live-streaming of all FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 matches, as well as other key sporting events, will be provided free of charge to all passengers via their personal electronic devices.

2. Beach clubs

Fans who travel to the peninsula now have access to modern beach facilities. Recently opened by Qatar Airways and Qatar Tourism in collaboration with Ayla Oasis Development, the family-friendly B12 Beach Club features a wide variety of recreational opportunities, fine cuisine, VIP services, and live family entertainment.

Then, there’s Doha Sands, one of Qatar’s newest beaches. It’s where you can enjoy a night of dancing, dining, and listening to live music. Both locals and visitors may savour a variety of cuisines at Doha’s traditional food booths.

The West Bay Beach in Doha, named after the city’s most famous neighbourhood, is a public beach that will soon have facilities to host 1,500 people.

3. Fuwairit Kite Beach Resort

The resort’s location on a stretch of untouched coastline adjacent to a natural lagoon makes it a haven for kite surfers. The resort has 50 rooms in total, 40 of which are beachfront. Among the amenities available to visitors are a swimming pool, yoga pavilion, Padel courts, an outdoor movie theatre, and a cutting-edge gym.

The resort provides places for adventurers to unwind and recharge after a day of action at the first-of-its-kind Fuwairit Kite Beach, located on the northern coast of Qatar.

4. Qatar Live

At Qatar Live, fans can watch performances by artists like Enrique Iglesias, the Black Eyed Peas, Maroon 5, Post Malone, J Balvin, and Robbie Williams. This year, Qatar Live will bring back the Daydream Festival with a brand-new stage, the Magic Lantern, and it will feature performances by a number of internationally recognised performers. Expect Alesso, Alok, Armin Van Buren, DVLM, John Newman, Major Lazer, Tiesto, and Tinny Trumpet as headliners.

Daydream Qatar 2022 is set to have the largest DJ lineup ever seen in the Middle East. The airline and its partners will also present family-friendly musical acts at circuses, such as The Enchanted Prince and Pinocchio.

5. MSC

The naming ceremony for MSC Cruises’ largest ship, MSC World Europa, will take place on 13 November 2022 and will be hosted by Qatar Airways. Throughout the FIFA World Cup event, the ship will be moored at the Grand Terminal in the Doha Port and will serve as a floating hotel.

The MSC World Europa ship has 13 dining options, a fully equipped gym, a beauty salon, six gorgeous pools, 14 whirlpool baths with views of the ocean, and a wellness centre and Balinese-style spa. Tourists and locals can stay in one of the 2,626 guest cabins and enjoy a wide variety of amenities and activities.

6. Qatar Airways Sky House

Qatar Airways will soon open Qatar Sky House, a pavilion in Al Bidda Park filled with fun and engaging activities for visitors to the country. These include face painting, a Qverse experience, Swing the World, foosball, and a Neymar challenge. The pavilion will have two lounge sections, one for members of the Qatar Airways Privilege Club and the other for individuals who just want to unwind.

7. Qatar Airways House

Qatar Airways is showing its VIP customers and guests some love with the opening of Qatar Airways House in the Hyatt Regency Oryx Hotel. The national carrier will provide live match streaming, conferences, events, and an overview of the culture of the nation.

8. Qatar Airways Stadium Activation

Football fans can take part in the events by visiting the fan zones before and after the matches, or while touring the 7-kilometre Corniche, and they can stop by the Qatar Airways Booth at each of the renowned FIFA World Cup stadiums. Neymar-themed virtual football games, face painting, freebies, and more will all be available at each booth.

9. Passenger Overflow Area

Matar, the Qatari firm in charge of airport operations and management, has also made the announcement that it will open its doors to weary travellers. Qatar Airways will provide designated Passenger Overflow areas outside of Hamad International Airport and Doha International Airport free of charge, where football celebrations and live entertainment may be enjoyed together with luggage and carry-on storage. Fans can keep the party going here while they wait to enter the airport and check out the new, nature-inspired terminal at Hamad International.

10. Doha International Airport (DIA)

Thanks to DIA’s recent reopening, 13 domestic and international carriers may now transport 4,000 passengers per hour to Qatar. Along with retail goods and services, the DIA terminal will also include food and beverage options for travellers.

11. Lusail Boulevard

From 3 to 5 November 2022, the Darb Lusail Festival will be held in the Lusail Boulevard thanks to a collaboration between Qatari Diar, Qatar Airways, and Qatar Tourism. Celebrity performers, drone light shows, and creative performances will span all three days of the Middle Eastern, South Asian, and North African-themed celebration.

12. Winter Wonderland

Qatar Airways will also be the official airline and presenting partner of Lusail Winter Wonderland, an original world-class entertainment and leisure destination in Qatar that will give fun seekers memorable experiences.

Open to the public in November, Lusail Winter Wonderland is a magnificent theme park situated on Al Maha Island, in the centre of Qatar’s entertainment sector. Ain QNB, a 150-foot Ferris wheel, The Galleon, the Ooredoo 5G Rollercoaster, the Flume ride Arctic Splash, and the Qatar Airways Forest Train are just a few of the thrilling rides and attractions that will be available at this one-of-a-kind theme park.
