Single and adventurous? Finland is inviting travellers on an all-expenses-paid culinary trip to discover its food culture, meet new people and perhaps find romance in February 2027.
Who says travelling solo means being alone? If you’re single, adventurous and open to meeting new people, Finland might have just the trip for you. Visit Finland is inviting international singles to join two exclusive group dinner dates in Helsinki and Tampere in February 2027, where good food, new connections and perhaps a little romance are on the menu.
A blind date with a Finnish twist
Taking place between 9 and 19 February 2027, the experience brings together eight selected participants per dinner and features Finland’s official tasting menus. The menus, created by chefs Adele Kinnunen and Henry Tikkanen, showcase Finnish flavours through seasonal ingredients, including wild fish, berries, and mushrooms.
The four-day trips include a hosted itinerary of food experiences and activities, culminating in the group dinner.
Participants will also be joined by two local Finnish singles at each event, making this more than just a chance to meet fellow travellers.
The campaign takes inspiration from Finland’s viral Sinkkukori, or “single basket”, trend, in which pink shopping baskets at some Finnish grocery stores signal that someone is open to meeting a potential partner. For this latest initiative, the idea moves from the supermarket aisle to the dinner table.*
How to join the dinner date
Fancy giving it a shot? Applicants simply need to answer one question: “What would you serve on a dinner date, and why?”
Create a video in English, post it on Instagram, TikTok or YouTube using #FinnishDinnerDate, and tag Visit Finland’s official account. Then, complete the application form at FinnishDinnerDate.com with your video link. Unlisted YouTube videos are also accepted.
Applications close on 10 November 2026 at 11.59 am Finnish time (5.59 pm Malaysian time). Selected participants will be announced on 1 December 2026 via Visit Finland’s Instagram and TikTok channels.
The 16 selected participants will receive an all-expenses-paid trip, with eight assigned to each destination. The exact location — Helsinki or Tampere, in Finland’s Lakeland region — will be revealed once participants confirm their participation.
Regardless of whether you’re looking for love, friendship, or an excuse to visit Finland, this might be one dinner date worth travelling for.
