At ZafigoX, we’ve got speakers who are breaking boundaries and reclaiming space, performances that tell stories, panels that inspire, and, to round it all off, workshops that turn ideas into action. Our workshops are designed to help you learn new skills or build on existing ones, while unlocking your inner confidence.

Workshops run during two time slots on both days of ZafigoX 2025:

3:00pm–4:30pm
4:45pm–6:15pm

Sunday, 12 October

Here are the workshops happening on the first day of ZafigoX 2025, Saturday, 11 October.

11 October, Saturday – Time slot 1
3:00pm – 4:30pm

The bulk of writing consists of _re_writing. Revision is the part of the writing process that takes a piece from so-so to stellar, but it can be difficult to figure out how to improve your own writing. How do you begin to revise and edit your own work in a meaningful and fruitful way?

If you’re an aspiring writer or avid reader dipping your toes into the craft, this workshop will help you look at your own writing via the lens of craft and teach you how to give writer-focused feedback on a piece of writing.

What to bring for this workshop:

  • Notebook, if desired
  • A copy of your piece of writing (paper or digital)

Learn more about our local ulams, which grow ever so abundantly in our Malaysian backyards (sometimes without us even knowing!). Savour heritage-inspired ulam dishes with Alleena of Yellow Tree Malaysia, whose global culinary journey always returns to the bold, spicy roots of her Negeri Sembilan kampung; then get your hands a little dirty with Shao-Lyn from Eats, Shoots & Roots, as you plant your own ulam to take home—continuing the story of these powerful plants in your own space.

You don’t have to bring anything for this workshop (except yourself and an eagerness to learn), but if you feel iffy or have sensory concerns about touching soil, bringing your own gloves is recommended.

Financial empowerment goes beyond earning—it’s about taking charge of your future with clarity and confidence. This workshop equips you with the knowledge and tools to make proactive financial decisions that safeguard both your present and your legacy.

Through practical guidance, participants will learn simple steps they can start today to build wealth, secure their financial independence, and protect their loved ones. The session also explores how estate planning tools such as Wills, Wasiat, and trusts can help preserve what you’ve worked hard for, while busting common myths that often hold women back from taking action.

Have you ever returned from a trip with a profound memory that photos and captions just couldn’t capture? Then this is the workshop for you. We’ll show you how to start a travel journal, transforming your experiences into your personal keepsake.

In this beginner-friendly session, you’ll get to see examples and receive guidance to get started. This workshop is great for those who have trouble beginning.

What to bring for this workshop:

  • A few of your favourite travel photos (printed or digital)
  • A small set of your own writing and drawing tools

11 October, Saturday – Time slot 2
4:45pm – 6:15pm

Your travels should leave you with memories, not aches. Whether you’re boarding a long-haul flight, navigating a new city, or trekking a scenic trail, your body is your best travel companion.

In this fun and practical workshop, you’ll learn simple, effective movements you can do on the plane, in your hotel room, or even when you’re out exploring, so you can travel stronger, recover faster, and enjoy every moment pain- and worry-free.

Prepare to walk away from the session with useful know-how, including how to handle uneven terrain with ease, reduce stiffness during flights or long rides, and prevent common travel aches in the back, hips, knees, and feet.

What to bring for this workshop:

  • Come in comfortable attire to move in, no shoes required
  • Drinking water to stay hydrated
