CIMB Bank Berhad (CIMB) has reached an extraordinary milestone—its 100th anniversary. To celebrate, CIMB has launched a new brand campaign called ‘Kita Bagi Jadi’, marking a century of dedication to Malaysians.
More than just a brand message, the campaign embodies a movement aimed at inspiring a resilient, positive spirit in the nation, particularly among young Malaysians.
Inspiring resilience across Malaysia
CIMB’s ‘Kita Bagi Jadi’ campaign is more than a tagline; it’s a call to action that reflects the core values of resilience, determination, and the drive to succeed. Celebrating this philosophy, the campaign highlights prominent Malaysian athletes who personify these qualities, including Olympian Dato’ Azizulhasni Awang and national squash champion S. Sivasangari.
Throughout its 100-year journey, CIMB has remained committed to empowering Malaysians, with a special focus on youth development in music, sports, and the arts. In line with this legacy, CIMB has partnered with the Malaysian Philharmonic Youth Orchestra (MPYO) under a one-year agreement with MyCreative Ventures. Forty members will attend a 30-day music camp at CIMB’s Akademi Nazir Razak, honing their skills in a rich, immersive setting.
Gurdip Singh Sidhu of CIMB said, “At CIMB, we ensure that our actions have real, meaningful impact on people’s lives every day. A key advocate of financial inclusion, our Group remains committed to playing its role as a responsible corporate citizen. In addition to the financing support we give to the B40 and Micro SMEs, CIMB is committed to work alongside various communities for its CSR programmes in 2024. Education remains a key pillar for CIMB, and this is evident from its flagship CIMB ASEAN Scholarship programme where we have supported 120 scholars since 2016. Through Kita Bagi Jadi, we aim to have more meaningful collaborations that will serve our customers and the community. We welcome MPYO as CIMB’s latest brand partner and are pleased to support our talented young musicians so that they can receive the nurturing support and exposure they deserve.”
Zainariah Johari of MyCreative Ventures said, “We are deeply committed to champion Malaysian talents in the area of the creative and fine arts. At the core of this sponsorship of the young and brightest in MPYO, is the emotional depth, the nuances and the human connection that music brings to all Malaysians. We believe our contributions through the Ministry of Communications’ Skim Dana Padanan (SDP), supported by the Ministry of Finance, would enhance MPYO’s profile and visibility, and help ignite passion of our young musicians to new and enriching experiences.”
This partnership also offers them high-profile platforms to perform at, including CIMB’s “Art & Soul” exhibition, its 100th-anniversary concert, and MyCreative’s Rock n’ Riuh festival. Hassina Begam of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra noted that this collaboration will deepen youth music appreciation and enrich Malaysia’s cultural landscape.
