Young talents from eight countries around the world will be embraced and celebrated at the MonStar Awards 2022. The 5th installation of the MonStar Awards will be held on 26 November 2022, at Panggung DBKL, where the award for the Top 10 Young Talent Awards will come from a pool of 1,000 nominees.

To highlight the significance of identifying and nurturing young talent for the country, Monsta Asia gathered eminent juries, including Datin Paduka Marina Mahathir (Malaysian socio-political activist, writer, and Zafigo Founder), Chef Wan (Malaysian celebrity chef), Tan Sri Dr Jemilah Mahmood (humanitarian and physician), Hassan Salahuddin (Head of Creator Partnership of Meta Malaysia & Pakistan), and Natalia Navin (Chief Human Resource Officer of Maxis).

The MonStar Awards have been given out annually since 2018 to honour young people who have made significant contributions to their communities by their work, story, or talent(s). At the MonStar Awards Ceremony, winners will be revealed, the jurors will share their insights, and there will be a live performance.

There will be five different awards presented at this year’s MonStars: the Top 10 Young Talent Award, the Top 100 Young Talents Award, the Most Inspiring Award, the Monsta Xperience Award, and the Maxis Xperience Award.

Maxis has also announced that they will be giving the Maxis Xperience Award to three young people whose stories create, inspire, and influence people and their communities.

Among the many stories shared were ‘confessions of a dyslexic’, ‘becoming an eco-warrior’, ‘the metamorphosis from a quiet introvert to an active introvert’, and ‘the story of newspapers’.

There were also moments of enlightenment, when judges shared their pearls of wisdom with nominees and the audience. Marina Mahathir explained to the young people that “stop and start” is the key to living because it gives us all the time we need to take stock of what’s going right and wrong.

To make the awards even more special, Zafigo readers are cordially invited to the annual LIVE Finale Show, where the Top 10 Young Talent Awards are presented along with a night of entertainment and fun. There will also be a RM15 discount code to help those interested to get their tickets here: MA2022ZAFIGO.
