If comfort and convenience matter to you but the price doesn’t, Kuala Lumpur easily caters to your whims and fancies.
Every major hotel chain has a presence in the city, with most clustering around the city centre.
At your very doorstep, you would have access to the best the city has to offer not just in luxury stays, but shopping and dining.
On Bukit Bintang itself you will find the Westin, Mariott, Royale Bintang, Shangri-La and the Ritz-Carlton within walking distance of each other. Stray further away to KL Sentral and you will find Le Mériden and the KL Hilton right next to each other. And just a walk across from KLCC is the Mandarin Oriental and Traders Hotel.
Another popular choice is the Majestic Hotel, recently refurbished to give you a feel of colonial times.
To further spoil you for choice, the St.Regis, Four Seasons and Harrods will soon be adding their opulent touch to the jewel that is Kuala Lumpur.
Besides five-star hotels, also look out for upper-tier residences that are the equivalent of serviced apartments.
If you would still like the best bargain the city can offer, try booking online or getting a local to book you a stay. Hotel room rates compare favourably to other cities and thanks to the currency exchange, if you manage to book a room in ringgit, you’ll pay cheaper rates than booking from overseas.
You will probably still need to fork out at least RM700 per night though booking online from places like agoda.com can usually net you good deals. Hotels tend to charge by room and not per head so single travellers, rejoice!
