PanelYut is a Co-founder of Ayana Journeys, an educational travel specialist in Cambodia – a ChildSafe-certified and Global Youth Travel Awards-recognised ethical tour operator. He is an award-winning tour guide and brings with him a wealth of knowledge on Cambodian history, culture, and Buddhist philosophy. He has been guiding for over a decade, specialising in transformative learning journeys on development, and is an experienced facilitator for educational trips for students.
Hailing from Siem Reap, which has become an international capital for volunteer tourism, Yut has seen first-hand how misguided good intentions can sometimes lead to negative effects – such as the booming orphanage tourism industry and other disempowering approaches to aid. Through Ayana Journeys, Yut and his team are working to rethink service learning and advocate for more responsible alternatives to traditional voluntourism.
